History of Grey Oaks

From its founding vision by the Collier family to three decades of growth, Grey Oaks has evolved into one of Naples’ most prestigious golf communities.

1993

Grey Oaks Country Club was founded by Judy Sproul, who used land gifted by her father, Barron Gift Collier Jr., to create a premier golf community. Through her company, Halstatt, she developed the Pine and Palm courses by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton, quickly attracting golf enthusiasts.

1999

Judy’s daughter, Katie Sproul, joined Halstatt to continue the family legacy, leading expansion and redevelopment projects. Now CEO, she manages Halstatt’s diverse investments for family offices and institutional investors.

2010

Club members voted to gradually transition governance from Halstatt to member control, ensuring a smooth handover while preserving the community’s high standards.

2011

Halstatt, with The Codina-Carr Company, developed the Traditions neighborhood—62 villas and 44 coach homes—and later added 33 villas in the adjacent Torino neighborhood.

2020s

Grey Oaks has earned national and local accolades, including Platinum Club of America status (2021–2022) and the Collier Building Industry Association’s Sand Dollar Award (2020).

2023

In 2023, Grey Oaks celebrated its 30th anniversary, honoring three decades of growth from its founding vision to one of Naples’ most prestigious golf communities.
